Many of our customers have expressed dissatisfaction with reed diffuser oil products bought elsewhere. We'd like to explain the basics to help assure you that not all reed diffusers are the same. The two critical components of a reed diffuser are the reeds or 'sticks' and the diffuser oil. The oil absorbs into the sticks and slowly 'wicks' up the reed. If the reed sticks are the wrong size or the diffuser base isn't mixed properly, you'll have less than satisfactory results. Recent testing indicates that the perfect reed sticks are 12" long and 3 mm thick. Shorter reed sticks aren't long enough to properly scent your room. Thicker reed sticks won't allow the diffuser oil to 'wick up'. The reed diffuser oil consists of the diffuser base and a fragrance oil. If the company uses cheap diffuser base or low-quality fragrances, the oil either won't provide enough scent or will evaporate too quickly. Need a complete reed diffuser set? We have you covered! Reed diffuser oils and replacements online. Reed diffusers are the safest home
fragrance product on the market. Candles are dangerous and unsafe if left
unattended. There are hundreds of complaints on the internet about electric oil
warmers shorting out, catching on fire, and almost burning houses down. Reed diffusers
are very simple to understand. Reeds are inserted into a glass bottle
containing scented diffuser oil. The oil ‘wicks up’ the reeds and scents your
room. Nothing could be safer or more natural! Reeds draw the fragranced oil up the reed channels, which
we in the business refer to as ‘wicking up’. The fragrance wicking up the reeds
is what scents the air. Only true reeds will work. Reeds are not bamboo or wood. They’re reeds.
Reeds are an all-natural product and are not referred to as anything else.
Accept no substitutes. Do not use anything besides reeds. Our reed diffuser refill oils are created
specifically for use in reed diffusers. We do not recommend using reed diffuser
oils in electric oil warmers, candlemaking, soapmaking, or anything other than a glass reed diffuser
bottle. Our reed diffuser base is environmentally-friendly and free of alcohol
and DPG. Our premium fragrance oils are 100% uncut and undiluted. Most importantly, every drop of reed diffuser
oil we sell is blended BY HAND after it’s ordered. We do not keep diffuser oils
'on the shelf'. We mix the fragrance oils into the diffuser oil base after you

likely those $3 reed diffuser sets you might find at your local dollar store
are made in For some unknown reason, several of our
competitors feel it is necessary to mention that their reed diffuser oils are
not tested on animals. Rest assured that our reed diffuser oils are not tested
on animals either. Who in their right mind would assume reed diffuser oils might
be tested on animals? So-called “home recipes” to make your own
reed diffuser oil can be found online.
Most are misleading and will produce the worst diffuser oil imaginable.
You should not use DPG, perfumer’s alcohol, vegetable-based oils, glycerin,
safflower oil, sunflower, or any other type of oil. Only professionally-manufactured reed
diffuser oil is suitable. The correct diffuser base is necessary to allow the
fragrance to ‘wick up’ the reeds. The person who wrote a blog
saying you can use safflower oil as reed diffuser base has no idea what she’s
talking about. Safflower oil is cheap
but it will not evaporate or allow the fragrance to wick up the reeds. Worst of
all, it will clog the channels in the reeds and won’t allow the fragrance oil
to evaporate into the surrounding air. Reeds should be replaced when you notice
the oil isn’t evaporating as quickly as it used to. Certain companies that
claim their diffuser oils will last for months are misinforming consumers. Diffuser oils SHOULD NOT last for months. By
sheer nature of the diffusion process, the oil base MUST wick up the reeds so
the fragrance oil can evaporate. If
you’ve used your diffuser oil for a month and the oil in the bottle is still at
the same level, you either bought lousy quality diffuser oil or the reeds are
clogged and need to be replaced. Do not reuse your reeds for another fragrance. You should replace the reeds when you switch to a new scent or if the oil isn’t evaporating at the same rate it did when the reeds were new. Replacement reeds are very cheap. You can buy them in sets of 10 reeds up to packages of 100. Whenever you notice your oil isn’t evaporating or the scent isn’t as strong as it used to be, REPLACE THE REEDS.
